Term 1 Dance Newsletter 2021
Welcome back to LFK 2021!
After a rollercoaster of a year, we are so excited that everyone is back to dance classes for 2021! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a relaxing break, and that you are ready for another amazing year at LFK! We have had such a busy, but incredible start to our 2021 and are currently in the works for our very first Mid-Year Showcase! Please read the following information for updates on events, uniform and announcements for Term 1.
Mid-Year Showcase:
LFK will be hosting our very first Mid-Year Showcase at the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds! (750 Mt Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds)
Dates – Wednesday 16th (Dress Rehearsal-Grade 3 to senior only), Thursday 17th (Senior Showcase) and Friday 18th of June (Junior and Senior Showcase)
Costumes – As this is a mid-year show, we are allowing a maximum of $50 per costume per class. An envelope will be handed out this week in class for you to pay your deposit in cash and hand in to LFK reception.
For this Showcase we are doing our best to minimise the costs involved. Some classes will be reusing costumes from our last concert, and all costumes purchased will only be sale items. Lighting effects, props and other showcase elements will be minimised to ensure costs are reduced for this Showcase.
We cannot wait to see our gorgeous students back up on the stage! I’m sure they have all missed performing and are keen to get back to it!

LFK Industry Squad:
We are very excited to announce that we have introduced our NEW Mini Industry Squad for 2021. This group of lovely girls will be working towards performing at external events and representing LFK alongside the Junior and Senior Industry Squads.
We have some exciting events lined up for our Squads this year so stay tuned for details to come!
Dance Captains 2021:
Finally, we would like to introduce and welcome our two Dance Captains for 2021. Aspen Santoro and Mikaela King have been selected to help facilitate the dance faculty at LFK, and be the middle ear between students and staff. They are excellent role models and dancers and will create a fantastic path for all of the younger dancers to dance along. Congratulations girls!
Junior and Mini Squad Captains:
For 2021 we have the amazing Sophie Garforth as our Junior Squad captain and Alexandria Lagos as our Mini Squad captain. Congratulations girls and we look forward to a great year!
Important dates to look out for:
Monday 8th March – We are OPEN on Labour Day Weekend
Sunday the 7th of March – AFLW Performance at Whitten Oval 3.10pm
Saturday the 27th of March- AFLW Performance at Whitten Oval 1.10pm
Friday and Saturday the 2nd and 3rd of April- We are CLOSED for Easter Weekend
Fees
Fees for Term 1 are now due. Fees can be paid over the phone by credit card or direct debit if you do not have a chance to come to reception between 9-7pm Monday to Friday.
LFK Uniform
Have you seen our NEW 2021 Dance T-shirt? Please see reception to purchase the new T-shirt for your child, as this will be used as the 2021 uniform for classes as well as the Mid-Year and End of Year Showcase. If you haven’t purchased the appropriate uniform for your child yet please aim to do so. Please make sure the correct uniform (including shoes) is worn, and that hair is up and tidy for class. Any questions about the exact uniform please see the posters in the foyer or have a look on our website at the full uniform lists including pictures and pricing. Please remember to send your child to class with a drink bottle!
