Term 3 Gymnastics Newsletter
Welcome back to all parents and students to Term 3, 2017! Hasn’t it arrived quickly! This term is a 10-week term finishing on Saturday the 23rd of September. Please see below some important information regarding upcoming events, some Gymnastics information and important dates.
Important dates:
Sunday 6th of August: Internal Dance Competition- all welcome to attend
Sunday the 30th of July: Sun Theatre Movie afternoon- “Paris Can Wait’
Saturday 9th of September- LFK Movie Night- Rock dog!
Sunday the 17th of September- Internal Gymnastics Competition
Fees
Due to an enormous amount of outstanding fees between terms, as per the new financial year an additional fee of 10% of your outstanding balance will be charged to your account before the commencement of each new term. Term 3 fees are now due. We distribute invoices to those who haven’t paid in week 3 so please see reception to settle your account. Fees can be paid over the phone by credit card or direct debit if you do not have the chance to come in between 9am-7pm. You are entitled to a 5% discount if fees are paid in full by Saturday the 22nd of July by 1pm sharp.
Absent Coaches
We have a few of our coaches absent this term, Katherine and Christina for weeks 1, 2 and 3. Ella and Melati are away for the entirety of term 3 and Indah and Taya will be covering their classes respectively. Unfortunately Teneille will no longer be coaching at LFK anymore and we are very thankful for the time she put in with us for the last 6 months. We welcome Ellen our new Acrobatics coach!
External Competitions:
We have has a very successful start to the year in our external competitions from our LFK gymnastics representatives. Our ALP Level 3 team and our Level 4 team came 3rd in teams overall as well as multiple other team and individual apparatus awards. Our Level 6 Gymstar gymnast, Sophie Garforth came 1st overall and Lily McLeod came 4th overall, our Level 6 team came 2nd overall and our level 7 team came third overall. It is amazing to even place in these competitions so we are very proud. Congratulations to all of our competitors.
Disney Hong Kong 2018 (LFK in HK)
Lifestyle for Kids has been selected to send 22 dancers, to Disneyland Hong Kong, in April 2018!! These enthusiastic dancers have the opportunity to dance in the Disneyland Main Parade, and perform at the Ocean Park Oceanarium. They will also partake in workshops in ballet and jazz at the Jean Wong’s School of dance, ultimately participating in the experience of a lifetime! We intend to, with our fantastic community support, help fundraise for our dancers, to ensure all invited can have the chance of a lifetime and fulfil their dreams of performing on tour. Keep an eye out for upcoming events. We thank you for your support in advance.
What’s been happening?
We have been very busy over the holidays here at LFK. Our ALP and Competitive 5,6,7 gymnasts have been a part of weekly training sessions, tumbling and ballet workshops. We have had silk workshops and private lessons as well as our fun-filled holiday programs.
Privates
We do private classes for any child who wants to further their skills, or master that one move!
Privates need to be booked in with LFK reception in advance, as we will need to find available staff members and organize a suitable time for all.
30 minute private: $30
45 minute private: $45
60 minute private: $60
House keeping
Our make up policy is now only two make ups per term. If you miss more than two classes, you are only entitled to two make-ups. Classes are becoming too full with students constantly doing make up classes and this affects the quality and numbers in the class.
Please no glass drink bottles in the venue
