Term 2 Gymnastics Newsletter

Welcome back to Term 2, 2017- Term 1 flew by so quickly! We hope you all had a lovely Easter and a relaxing break, and that you are ready to work hard this Term.

Some important dates:

Tuesday 25th of April- ANZAC day we are CLOSED

Sunday the 4th of June- ALP Internal Comp @ NCE- Small entry fee- all welcome!

Sunday the 25th of June - LFK’s Internal Gymnastics Competition- all welcome!

Monday the 12th of June- Queens birthday- we are OPEN.

Sunday the 6th- LFK’s Internal Dance Competition at Altona Theatre

Fees

Fees for Term 2 are now due. We will send out invoices to those who have not paid in week three of the term, so please see reception to view and settle your account. Fees can be paid over the phone by credit card or direct debit if you do not have a chance to come to reception between 9-7pm Monday to Friday. You are entitled to a 5% discount if fees are paid in full by Saturday the 22nd of April.

Absences and make up classes:

Please call LFK if your child cannot make the training session. If you would like to book a make up class, you will need to book it in with the LFK reception. You are more than welcome and entitled to up to three make up classes within the term, but they must be booked in and they cannot be carried over to the following term.

Private lessons:

LFK offers a one on one private session upon organization. Classes are $30 for 30 minutes or $45 for 45 minutes. You can book two children in with one coach for the same prices. Please organize with reception.

LFK Uniform:

If you haven’t purchased the appropriate uniform for your child yet please aim to do so. Please make sure that the correct uniform is worn, that students bring a water bottle and that hair is up and tidy for class. Any questions about the exact uniform please see the posters in the foyer or have a look on our website at the full uniform lists including pictures and pricing. We also have a NEW LFK ACRO uniform. LFK ACRO bike shorts and a Sylvia P designed navy crop top to help dress our talented flippers!

Our Gymnastics Coordinator:

We would like to welcome Tenielle our new gymnastics coordinator. Tenielle brings a huge amount of experience to LFK, has been the senior coach at multiple clubs, coached at the International Gymnastics Training Camp in the US and has recently worked with Gymnastics Victoria. Her skills in gymnastics and her knowledge of the gymnastics field are invaluable to us and we are very happy and excited to have her on board!

Gym Routines:

For those students wanting to practice the routines at home, we have a copy of all routines for all levels. Please ask LFK reception for a copy and we will be happy to provide one.

ACRO Performance:

We have already has considerable interest regarding the ACRO performance routine for this years dance concert. Practice begins from the start of Term 3. We will re-invite all past performers and generate interest for new students. If there are a lot of students wanting to be a part of the ACRO performance team we will run an audition. As numbers are limited, certain skills need to be attained before the audition process. There will be more information on the ACRO performance selection process during the middle of this term.

GYM CAPTAINS 2017

We would like to introduce and welcome our two Gymnastics Captains for 2017. Yuki Carter and Evie Paspa have been selected to help facilitate the smooth running of the gym faculty at LFK, and be the middle ear between students and staff. They are excellent role models and gymnasts and will create a fantastic path for all of the younger gymnasts within the club. Congratulations girls and well deserved.
